Patrons in need of notary services will be directed to other locations as the library will be terminating notary services effective 5/31/24. This change is made to maintain library operations as several issues have occurred including a lack of appointments with an immediate walk-in expectations, lengthy requests, and difficult patron transactions during which staff were not able to legally provide the service. This detracts from serving the public in standard library needs.
As this service may come with a liability to the library and the staff member serving as a notary and placed in difficult transactions, the decision was made to direct patrons to commercial resources or a larger library with several notaries available. We apologize for the inconvenience and can provide a list of locations for services.
