In conjunction with National Library Week, the Messenger Public Library of North Aurora will waive $1.00 in library overdue fines for each item of non-perishable food donated, up to a maximum of $10.00 per person. L. J Morse Construction Co. will start work the week of September 19th on the West Wing Renovation Project.  Phase I of the project will begin the week of September 19th and end in December. Phase II will begin the week of January 6th 2017 and last until the end of June 2017. Try life in the fast lane!  The Messenger Public Library is pleased to announce that our new self-service checkout kiosks are up and running. Five self-service checkout stations are available for public use. Two stations are at the Circulation Desk, two are in Youth Services and one is across from the Adult Information Desk. Using the touchscreen stations patrons can check out their own books, DVDs and other materials, renew their current checkouts and review their account. Did you know you can manage your Messenger library account with Shoutbomb? Shoutbomb is a service that allows you to renew eligible items, see available holds, view overdue notifications and will alert you when items will be due soon via text messaging.All you need to use this service are a mobile phone and wireless service that allows you to receive and send text messages.  You don't need a smartphone to take advantage of this service.
